Book Meets Film – a conversation with bestselling author Colin Hadler together with director Gregor Schmidinger
A mix of a comedy show and a thriller reading? That’s exactly what you get at Colin Hadler’s reading cabaret about his new queer thriller Firewatch! But that’s not all: together with acclaimed director and podcaster Gregor Schmidinger, there will also be a conversation afterwards about the representation of gay lived realities in film and literature. A funny, exciting, and hopefully enriching evening.
After the event, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase Colin’s work on-site at the Löwenherz Bookstore table and have it signed by the author.
📆 April 28, 2026 📝 Doors open: 7:00 PM, Start: 7:30 PM 📍 Das Gugg, Heumühlgasse 14/1, 1040 Vienna
Colin Hadler was born in 2001 in Graz and dislikes writing author biographies. With his reading cabarets, he combines his love of theatre with his love of books. His thrillers, including SPIEGEL bestsellers, have been nominated for the GLAUSER and other awards, and translated into several languages. And if he hasn’t died, he still lives in Vienna.
Gregor Schmidinger is a filmmaker and podcaster (Warme Bros) from Vienna. His work moves at the intersection of art, queer lived experience, and social discourse, shaped also by his perspective as a psychological counselor.
